Renaissance Battle of Cremona: AD 1510HomeSynopsisThis game was played in my basement in September, 2007, between myself, Adrian Nelson, and Dan Proctor Jr. as the French, and Mark Waddington, Matt Kachur, and Dan Proctor Sr. as the Imperialists. The game rules were a variant of Warhammer Ancient Battles (WAB). The game lasted about four hours, excluding one hour for setup, with eight game-turns played. The game was a victory for the Iimperialists. The figures were 25mm size. The game was an Imperialist victory, after 8 turns. The Imperialsts advanced to the attack. Their German horse units overran the French crossbowmen posted on the north hill and swug around onto the French rear. Their horse in the center suffered some losses to crossbow shooting, and got tangled up an a multi-turn combat with two units of Italian pikemen and halberdiers. Eventually the Germans broke, but by that time the Landsknecht tercios had deployed their arquebusiers, who wreaked havoc on the Swiss and French horse trying to gain some momentum in the center. The game ended with half the French army in flight and about to be snapped up by the German units on their rear. Game Table Map (7.5'X6'):
